Surreality ("Surreality," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the Surreality mobile application, website, or related services (collectively, the "App").
Surreality provides educational information and external resource links related to grief support, end-of-life preparation, remembrance, and future conceptual technologies. Surreality is not a medical, legal, or emergency service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
You may voluntarily provide limited personal information, such as:
- Name and email address when contacting us
- Messages or feedback submitted through forms
Providing this information is optional.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, we may automatically collect limited technical data, including:

This information is collected using standard analytics and security tools.
1.3 Information We Do Not Collect
Surreality does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or other identifying information unless you choose to provide it voluntarily through a contact form or subscription.
- Information from individuals under the age of 17. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
- Medical or health records
- Diagnoses or treatment information
- Legal documents or legal advice requests
- Financial or payment information
- Government-issued identification
- Biometric data
- Precise location data
- Audio or video recordings
- Contacts or address book data
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information solely to:
- Operate and maintain the App
- Improve functionality, performance, and usability
- Respond to user inquiries
- Ensure security and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal requirements
We do not use personal data for advertising targeting.
3. Data Sharing
Surreality does not sell personal data.
We may share limited data only:
- With service providers that support app analytics or hosting

Any service providers are obligated to protect information and use it only for permitted purposes.

The App contains links to third-party websites and services, including therapy directories, support organizations, educational resources, and memorial or merchandise providers.
When you open an external link, you leave the Surreality App. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. You should review their privacy policies separately.

Surreality may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the App. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies.
You may limit analytics tracking through device or browser settings where available.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no system can guarantee complete security.
7. International Users
Surreality is available globally. Information may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. We apply consistent privacy protections regardless of location.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 17 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If such information is discovered, it will be deleted.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Requests can be made using the contact information below.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
When information is no longer needed, it will be securely deleted or anonymized.

13A. United Kingdom Users (UK GDPR)

13F. South Korean Users (PIPA)

13H. Other Jurisdictions

13I. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.
When we transfer data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards, including:
- Standard contractual clauses approved by relevant authorities
- Adequacy decisions recognizing equivalent protection
- Certification mechanisms such as Privacy Shield successors (where applicable)
- Explicit user consent where required
Data processing by third parties is governed by data processing agreements ensuring compliance with applicable privacy laws.
14. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" feature. Currently, there is no industry standard for how to respond to these signals. The App does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
15. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The App may offer optional in-app purchases for merchandise, memorial services, or premium features. Payment processing is handled by third-party payment providers (such as Apple App Store or Google Play).
We do not directly collect or store payment card information. Transaction details are subject to the payment provider's privacy policy.
Subscription cancellations and refunds are managed through your app store account settings in accordance with Apple or Google policies.
16. Push Notifications
With your permission, the App may send push notifications for:
- Support group reminders
- Memorial date acknowledgments
- Educational content updates
- Crisis resource alerts
You can opt-in or opt-out of push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App settings menu.
We do not collect or share the content of notification interactions beyond basic delivery metrics.
17. Account Deletion and Data Removal
You have the right to delete your account and associated data at any time.
To delete your account:
- Navigate to the App settings menu and select "Delete Account," or
- Send an email to privacy@surrealityai.com with "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line
Upon receiving your request, we will:
- Permanently delete your account within 30 days
- Remove all personal data associated with your account
- Send a confirmation email once deletion is complete
Note: Some anonymized data may be retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or statistical analysis, but will not be linked to your identity.
18. Future and Conceptual Features
Sections of the App, including "Beyond," describe conceptual or future technologies. These features are not active and do not collect personal data at this time.
Any future data collection will be disclosed through updated privacy notices before activation.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
For material changes, we may provide additional notice through the App or via email where applicable.
