Surreality is a comprehensive grief support and end-of-life preparation hub. We provide:

Is Surreality free to use?

Yes! Surreality is completely free to browse and use. We provide educational resources and connections to external services. Some external services we link to may have their own fees, which will be clearly indicated on their respective platforms.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to browse resources. However, creating a free account allows you to save favorite resources, track your planning progress, and access personalized recommendations.

How to Use Surreality

How do I navigate between sections?

You can navigate in several ways:

  • Top Navigation: Click the home icon or menu to access any section
  • Swipe Navigation: On Prepare, Heal, and Remember pages, swipe left/right or look for the dots at the bottom
  • Resource Cards: Click any card to explore that specific resource category
  • Breadcrumbs: Use the back button or navigation breadcrumbs to return to previous pages
How do I find providers near me?

Go to Prepare → Find A Provider and use our finder tool. Enter your location and select the type of provider you need (hospice, funeral home, therapist, etc.). We'll connect you to verified directories and search tools.

Can I use this on my phone?

Yes! Surreality is fully mobile-responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktop computers. Swipe gestures work naturally on touch devices.

What are the accessibility features?

Click the settings icon (gear) in the top navigation to access:

  • Font size adjustment (small to extra-large)
  • High contrast mode for better visibility
  • Simplified navigation for easier browsing
  • Reduced motion for those sensitive to animations

Privacy & Safety

Is my information private?

Do you sell my data?

Absolutely not. We will never sell your personal information. Surreality is built to serve you, not advertisers.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can delete your account at any time from your Account Settings. All your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Is Surreality a crisis hotline?

No. Surreality is an educational resource directory, not a crisis intervention service. We connect you to qualified crisis support services, but we do not provide direct counseling or emergency response.

Are the crisis resources available 24/7?

Yes! All the crisis hotlines and text services we link to (988, Crisis Text Line, etc.) are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by trained professionals.

No. Surreality provides educational information and connects you to qualified professionals and resources. We are not medical providers, legal advisors, therapists, or financial planners. Always consult licensed professionals for personalized advice.

How are external resources vetted?

We carefully review resources for credibility, reputation, and user reviews. However, we recommend conducting your own research and due diligence before engaging any service provider.

Are all resources appropriate for all cultures?

We strive to provide culturally diverse and inclusive resources. Our Cultural Services section includes faith-based, indigenous, and international traditions. If you have suggestions for additional cultural resources, please contact us.
